Broccoli Cheese Soup

Ingredients

Original recipe makes 12 servings
 1 cup butter
 2 onions, chopped
 1 (16 ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli
 4 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
 1 (1 pound) loaf processed cheese food, cubed
 3 cups milk
1 cup of cream
2 tablespoons  garlic powder
 3/4 cup cornstarch
 1 cup water


Directions

1-In a stockpot, heat butter over medium heat. Cook onions in butter until brown. Add broccoli, and cover with chicken broth. Simmer until broccoli is tender, 8 to 12 minutes.

2-Reduce heat to low, and stir in cheese cubes until melted. melt in milk,cream and garlic powder.


3-In a medium bowl, stir cornstarch into water until dissolved. Stir into soup; cook, stirring frequently, until thick.
